Event Details

Hello Friends, I’m writing to let you know that starting Saturday, March 14, we are canceling all library programs and events until Tuesday, March 31, including the Spring Break event that you were signed up for. The Library is working closely with the City of Urbandale to follow updates and directions provided by the Polk County Health Department, the Iowa Department of Public Health, and the Centers for Disease Control regarding safe practices to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The safety of our patrons, staff, and the community is our top priority. For more information on our COVID-19 precautions, please click here. We apologize for the disappointment, and hope to see you at the library soon! Stay well, Jenny Goulden

Join us for a 30 – minute, fun and educational water safety presentation from the Urbandale Pool geared for children ages 3-6 years. The children will learn three basics for staying safe in and around the water 1) tell an adult whenever you are near water 2) always swim with a buddy 3) learn to float. Every child will receive a free coloring book and sticker. Josh the Baby Otter will make an appearance. While the children are learning, the parents will have their own free water safety presentation. They will learn why it is so important to watch children while swimming and what real drowning looks like. Please Register!

Target Audience: Ages 3-6 and their caregivers
