Contemporary Creative Movement is an expressive dance form that is accessible to any age and ability level. Dancers begin with pedestrian movements such as walking, sitting or gesturing and build in elements of focus and movement patterns. This dance form looks at the body as a moving sculpture interacting with elements in the space – whether other people, furniture, walls, outdoor pathways, etc. Creative movement can use music, poetry, sounds of nature, or silence to create an inspiring and inclusive landscape. Dancers will find personal connections not just to new ways of moving their own bodies, but how they can non-verbally connect with others in creative and meaningful ways. 

Open to movers of all ability levels including those in wheelchairs; no prior dance experience necessary. Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to dance in socks or barefoot.  Adults ages 18+.
