Teen Advocacy 101: Make a Difference!

Have you ever wanted to change the world, but didn’t know how to do it? Learn how to engage with elected officials on important issues. Understand how the processes work in government, and how to advocate for policy that matters to you! 

This workshop is taught by Joseph Jones, Executive Director for The Harkin Institute for Public Policy & Citizen Engagement and Windsor Heights city council member. We’ll also learn about Joseph’s previous jobs in Washington D.C. as Legislative Assistant to Senator Tom Harkin, Director of Governmental Affairs for the Iowa Finance Authority; and as Senior Communications Specialist for Governor Vilsack’s administration. 

Age Requirement: 12-18
