Snake Science with Dallas County Conservation

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Event Details

Join us for a highly interactive workshop about snakes, taught by Iowa author and Dallas County Naturalist, Cindy Blobaum. She literally wrote the book on snakes!

The program will include information about central Iowa snakes and snakes all over the world, three hands-on activities, Q & A, and a “visit” from a live education snake!

Age Requirement: 7-12. Siblings are welcome to observe, but our presenter has specifically noted that this program is best suited for those in 2nd grade and up.

Please note: One of the three activities in this program includes some actions that need an extra hand, so it will help if a sibling or parent is nearby. Also, to fully participate, you will need to gather some common household supplies, such as a metal baking rack, rubber bands, string, and a balloon. A full supply list will be sent upon sign up. Please feel free to reach out to jstolz@urbandale.org if you have questions!

This program will be presented via Zoom. Be sure to include an email address when you register. We will email participants a link before the event. Please only register once per household.
