In honor of Martin Luther King Jr Service Day, the Urbandale Public Library is partnering with YSS (Youth & Shelter Services) to assemble hygiene kits for homeless youth in Iowa. Drop in between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. if you would like to help. You'll also have the chance to meet a Peer Support Advocate who will share their story and the impact YSS has had.
The library is accepting donations throughout the month for YSS. Items donated on MLK Day (January 17 only) will be eligible for fine forgiveness.
Get fines removed from your account for donating new personal care items to benefit Iowa homeless youth. No limit!
- $.25 for shampoo/conditioner, body wash/bar soap, deodorant, disinfecting wipes, toothbrush, toothpaste
- $.50 for hand/feet warmers, gloves, socks, period products (pads, tampons)
